According to MTV.com, the cover of "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)" shows a new mask created by the band's visual and conceptual mastermind, Shawn Crahan (a.k.a. The Clown).
The grotesque, leathery, stitched-up and zippered headwear, which is still being developed, will be available at future SLIPKNOT shows.
As previously reported, the follow-up to 2001's "Iowa", "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)", is tentatively scheduled for release on May 25 through Roadrunner Records. Songs on the 13-cut Rick Rubin-produced CD include "Duality", "Pulse of the Maggots", "Vermillion", "Circle", and "The Blister Exists". A B-side from the recording sessions, "Don't Get Close", plus some instrumental pieces, recently appeared in the Activision video game "MTX: Mototrax".
SLIPKNOT shot a video for "Duality" on March 27 in West Des Moines. The band will perform the track live on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on Monday, May 17 at 11:35 p.m. EST.
